The following process explains how to set up accounts receivable customer records, including synchronization between DX1 and QuickBooks Desktop.
Preparing DX1
Navigate to the Dashboard within DX1.
Select the Customer List tile from the Customers tile set.
Begin typing the customer's information into the search bar. When the customer displays in the list, click on the appropriate listing.
NOTE: You may also need to add the customer
Select the AR tab.
Ensure the Accounts Receivable Customer slider is set to On.
Click Save.
Syncing records between DX1 and Quickbooks
Ensure all Accounting Applications are turned on.
Within the DX1 Accounting application, select QuickBooks/DMS Synchronization from left hand navigation menu.
Choose the dropdown menu next to the customer you have added within DX1.
Click Submit.
Within QuickBooks, click Customers on the Home page.
Double-click the customer name in the customer listing so the credit limit can be set
Select the Payment Settings tab from the left-hand navigation. set the credit limit in the CREDIT LIMIT field.
NOTE: The credit limit is the maximum dollar amount you want the customer to be able to purchase on that account.
Click OK.
Within the DX1 Accounting application, select QuickBooks/DMS Synchronization from left hand navigation menu and click submit. This will allow for the customer and credit limit to be chosen from the drop down inside the customer profile.
Return to DX1, Customer List and search for the customer. Under the AR tab The name and credit limit amount set in QB will show. Set the Account Receivable Account then Save
The customer's balance and credit limit will now show at the bottom of any parts, service or major unit sale.
