Q. How does the feature work with my DX1 hosted website?
A. With your current DMS still active, the connector allows for units to be pulled from the DMS into DX1.
Q. Which DMS platforms are available to use this feature?
A. Talon, Lizzy, Lightspeed and Zii
Q. How often is data pulled over?
A. Update Schedule:
Lightspeed: Four times a day
Talon: Once a day
Lizzy: four times a day
Zii: four times a day
Q. Does DX1 recommend any specific things to be done to ensure reliable data flow?
A. yes, see recommendations below
TALON only: Use a PC that will remain at the dealership location full time: As data is pulled, having a PC that has a constant connection to the dealership allows for data to be pulled on a consistent basis. Example: if a laptop is taken with a user on vacation and is not connected, new data may not be pulled as that PC was not available to capture the info if not connected to the web.
Take note of the last time data was pulled: When active, dealers will be able to see the last time data was pulled by looking at the upper left hand corner of the screen as shown below.
3. Note When the units were last updated: Please see examples below:
A. The name on the unit is whoever last updated the unit, it has no reflection on who entered the unit. DMS UNIT flag is separate from whomever updated it last.
B. Units that are added via the scheduled data pull from the connector will be labeled as a DMS Unit next to the unit in the inventory list.
For further instructions on how this feature works, see below:
Click on the DMS Inventory View on the left.
Units still in your current DMS referred to as Un-Reviewed units inside DX1 will appear on the left. These units have not been turned into listings for the website yet.
DX1 will suggest inventory and model matches to help you create DX1 listings faster and more efficiently. DX1 suggested models will appear on the right.
Search filters are located as shown when looking for specific units inside your external DMS Inventory
Matching and Creating Listings
Accept: This option will quickly create a DX1 listing using the suggested model. DX1 will create a default listing with the price set to MSRP.
Note: If ‘Auto Activate Destinations’ is enabled, the unit will also be immediately posted to your DX1 website.
Note: - If you want to show listings on your DX1 Website right away, but aren’t comfortable displaying the MSRP, you can hide prices on your inventory to prevent prices from appearing.
Search: This option will allow you to search your existing DX1 listings for a match, or select another model to create your listing. Once a model is selected, you will need to accept the match in the DMS Inventory View to create the listing
Decline: This option will decline any suggested matches. The unit will be marked as ‘Declined’ and you will not receive additional suggestions for it. No DX1 listing will be created.
Working With Statuses
Units from your DMS will have a status assigned depending on the activities performed on them.
Unit Statuses
Pending: These are units that are unreviewed. Initially, all units will be set to Pending until you choose to create a listing or hide the unit.
Accepted: These are active units that have a DX1 Listing.
Declined: These are units that are hidden and do not have a DX1 listing.
Removed: These are units that have an active DX1 Listing, but appear to be removed from your DMS- they could be sold, traded, or otherwise disposed of- all we know is that DX1 Listing is active and we don’t see the unit anymore. The DX1 listing will remain active until the unit is set to Declined status.
Changing a Unit’s Status
You can change a unit’s status by selecting the Accept or Decline icon in the DMS Inventory View Screen.
NOTE: Once a unit has been matched, it cannot be manually set to Removed or Pending status
Frequently Asked Questions
How Does DX1 Decide Which Models to Suggest?
When inventory from your DMS arrives, DX1 performs some matching magic to find matching inventory or models that appear to match the inventory unit. The three basic steps are as follows:
Stock Number
First, we check stock numbers on your DMS inventory and look for an existing DX1 Listing with the same number. If we find a match, the existing listing will be displayed as the suggested unit.Model Details
Next we look for a matching Manufacturer and Model Name in the DX1 model database. We will then check the model year and color for a match. If an exact or close match is found, that model will be displayed as the suggested unit.Model Code
If the model code matches a unit in the DX1 database, we check the make, product name and year. If a good match is found, the model will be displayed as the suggested unit.
