To help dealers better manage information related to customer records, DX1 allows you to upload files up to 100MB for both customers and prospects.

  1. How to activate file uploading
    1. Before users can use this tab, a GM or Owner will have to go into the documents tab and accept the terms of use for this service. Until they do, the service will remain inactive.
  2. How to upload files to a customer record
    1. Start by going to the Customer Search tile in the Customers and Leads Module
    2. Search and open the desired customer record
    3. Click on the Documents option in the General Information in the left navigation menu
    4. Click the Upload icon
    5. Click the Add Documents button
    6. Select the desired file up to 100MB. Users can upload multiple documents at one time, just select all your files before proceeding to the next step.
    7. Click the Upload button
    8. You will now see the file in the documents grid 
  3. How to delete uploaded files
    1. Click on the Documents option in the General Information in the left navigation menu
    2. Click the Trashcan icon related to the selected file
    3. Confirm Yes or No to delete the file
    4. Note once you have deleted a file there is no way of restoring the file 
  4. How to download files
    1. Click on the Documents option in the General Information in the left navigation menu
    2. Click the Download icon related to the selected file
    3. After clicking the Download icon your download will start automatically 
  5. How to rename a file description
    1. File descriptions always match the file name at the time of upload
    2. To change the description after the file has been uploaded, click on the bold file description field for the file and click to highlight.
    3. You can then rename the file to fit your dealership's needs.
    4. For example, you may want to change the file name of a bill of sale to read "BOS MU Deal #0001"


Notes:


  • Manager and Administration user roles will by default have the Customer Documents permission turned "On"
  • This feature allows you to upload files and attach them to customer records. The feature provides an initial block of up to 10GB of storage space without additional charge.  Additional storage space will be made available in 100GB blocks automatically if you exceed the amount of storage space included in your current block.  You will be charged $20/month for each additional block made available. 
  • Please note that the Customer Documents feature is tied to the dealership NOT the Org. This means that in a multi-location organization each location will be able to enable the feature but will ONLY be able to see and manage the documents they upload.  Even if both locations upload documents for the same customer they will ONLY be able to see and manage the documents they uploaded.
