NOTE: This article covers activating Paypal for DX1 Shopping Cart. As of September 1, 2022, this feature is in beta and may not apply to your Dealership. If you have questions, please contact DX1 support or your DX1 account manager.
Go to PayPal Developers Website home page at https://developer.paypal.com/home
Select Log in to Dashboard in the upper right corner and log in with your PayPal account credentials. If you do not already have a developer account, you will be signing up for one.
Once you have logged in to PayPal Developer, select your name in the upper right, then select Dashboard.
Beneath My apps & credentials, select Live, the select Create App
Enter a name in the App Name field- we recommend using DX1 Website- then select Create App
Your Client ID will appear on the screen. Select Show to display your Client Secret. You can click on the IDs to highlight, then hit CTRL+C to copy the values.
Log in to DX1. Select your initials in the upper right and then Dealership Settings
Select Online Payment Config in the left hand menu. Then set the toggle beneath PayPal Enabled to the On position. Paste your Client ID and Client Secret into the fields and select Save to activate the shopping cart.
