Communication with customers has always and continues to be a key way to help dealers increase efficiency and keep customers updated on what is happening.  This has taken on even more importance when it comes to customers and getting their service needs taken care of, allowing for shorter wait times and getting customers back on the road . SMS messaging can and has become a vital part of that communication process.

For some dealers there can be confusion as to the best way to use this feature within their DMS. Please see the provided examples of Service and SMS messaging when it comes to the system generated defaults for the service portion of the DMS.

Topics covered:

  • Where the default SMS messages are within DX1

  • Defining what each default message is used for

  • When an auto generated message will be sent.

Note: Only those with the proper permissions may access the default area.
