Communication with customers has always been and continues to be a key way to help dealers increase efficiency and keep customers updated on what is happening.  This has taken on even more importance when it comes to customers and getting their service needs taken care of, allowing for shorter wait times and getting customers back on the road. SMS messaging can and has become a vital part of that communication process.

  • Service - All Jobs Complete
  • Service - Some Jobs Complete
  • Service Schedule - Appointment Confirmation
  • Service Schedule - Appointment Reminder



Note: Only those with the proper permissions may access the default area. 


Where the Default SMS Message option is within DX1

  • Click on the user initials > Dealership Settings > SMS Templates Settings 


  • Auto-generated responses for commonly performed processes are found here. The highlighted Service responses shown below will be the focus of the given definitions 

  • Default Messages Definitions: See below for descriptions for each of the default templates and examples. 

  • Service Invoices: A system generated response will be sent anytime a user clicks: 
  • The print icon within the Service invoicing main screen. This applies to all open repair orders, estimates, and repair order history invoices. 

  • When the receipt button is clicked from within the invoice 

  • Example message to the customer 


Some Jobs Completed: A system-generated response will be sent when the complete toggle has been selected. The repair order is still in an open state and payment does not have to be taken. 


Note: The system-generated response WILL NOT be sent unless the complete toggle has been set to the “on” position

 All Jobs Completed: The complete toggle has been set for all jobs on the repair order. All jobs will need to have the (C)  next to each job for the system generated message to be sent. 







Appointment Confirmation: Once the appointment has been created an immediate confirmation system generated message is sent to the customer 




Appointment Reminder: The customer will receive a system generated reminder message 24 hours after the confirmation message was sent.
