Dealers can now send default messages for repair orders, just like the parts department.  


Note: Templates can be created for the following notification types: 


      • Service - Repair Order Completed

      • Service - Repair Order Partially Completed

      • Service Schedule - Appointment Confirmation

      • Service Schedule Appointment Reminder




To setup the default messages, please see the steps below:


Note: Only those users with the proper permissions will be able to access the setup area.


Click the user initials in the upper right hand corner then choose Dealership Settings 



From the menu on the left scroll down to the bottom and choose SMS Template Settings 



DX1 provides pre built templates as shown below. Users may customize the default messages, just click to edit.




Users can change the default templates as needed and preview them as well before saving any changes made



To create a new template click the Add button as shown 




All red edged fields are required.  



Note: There is a 160 character limit per message.  If the user goes over the limit the following message will show at the bottom of the message box: 


There is a 160 characters limit per SMS. Any template containing greater than 160 characters will result in multiple messages being sent, this may result in additional charges. 

Any custom messages created by the dealer that are not the default will appear as shown.


To change the default go into the template and click the dropdown then the checkbox  for the applicable default message, (in this example New All Job Test  will become the default.) 



If another template is set at the current default, the dealer will get the following confirmation box.  Once changed click Save.



The new default now shows in bold 





Dealers may also turn off or on notifications for SMS and email templates.  Under Dealership Settings click on Customer Notification on the left hand side.




Scroll to the bottom of the page, then choose which toggle needs to be turned on or off.  Users may also choose the default message for each type of notification as shown.



Once all applicable changes have been made, click Save in the upper right hand corner
