A 301 signals a permanent redirect from one URL to another, meaning all users that request an old URL will be automatically sent to a new URL.  301 redirects allow search engines to understand changes you make to your website.  A 301 redirect passes all ranking power from the old URL to the new URL, and is most commonly used when a page has been permanently moved or removed from a website.


  •  Navigate to the page settings and click on the page that the alternate link will ultimately land on.

On the right, click “Add URL”.

  • Double-check the site alias and make sure the correct domain is showing.

  • Copy the path of your redirected link and place it in the URL path option.

Under URL Type choose the Redirect (301) option.

  • Click Save
