The direct printing feature is designed to help dealers speed up the printing process for parts and service invoices. With direct printing enabled DX1 will send print jobs directly to user printers without opening any additional tabs or windows. Using the direct printing feature in DX1 requires turning on the feature in Local Settings as well as installing JSPrintManager. Once properly installed this feature will exponentially speed up the printing process.


In this document, we will cover the following topics:

  1. Installing the Print Manager.
  2. Enabling Direct Printing in Dealership Settings.
  3. Using the Direct Print feature in Invoicing.

Steps:


1. Installing JSPrintManager Version

  • Click your initials in the orange box in the navigation bar.
  • Select Local Settings.
  • Select the tab "Direct Printing"
  • Click on "Install Print Manager"
  • The Download JSPrintManager Client App pop-up will appear
  • Select your Operating System (Windows, Mac, etc)
  • Install the Unified Installer option


2. Enabling Direct Printing in Dealership Settings

  • Close the Download JSPrintManager Client App pop-up
  • The "Direct Printing" tab will reload in the Local Setting pop-up
  • There are many configurations that can be made, once you finish your configurations
  • Hit Save.

3. Using the Direct Print feature in Parts and Service Invoicing.

  • Printing using the Direct Print button.
    • Click the direct print icon
    • The document will now print directly to your printer.


  • Direct Printing using the Receipt Type window.
    • After completing the sale the Receipt Type window will open.
    • Select "Print".
    • The invoice will now print directly to the printer and the receipt type window will close on its own.

Note: When using Direct Printing, print buttons will lock themselves out for 10 seconds to avoid accidentally printing multiple documents after accidentally clicking a print button multiple times.
