Many dealerships rely on labels generated from DX1 to price their products. Using labels and keeping them updated is an important task if you are one of these dealers. 


In this document we will cover how to:

1. Configuring Your Label Type

  • As a default, label printing is set up to print on Avery labels. If you would like to print on Thermal labels you will need to click your Initials in the upper right-hand corner of the DX1 screen.
  • The first drop-down option will be Local Settings, click that option.
  • After the Local Settings window opens you will need to turn on the Enable Thermal Printing Toggle.
  • You will now select your thermal printer in the drop-down list and click the Print Test Page icon.
  • After the successful printing of the thermal label, you can click the Save button to close the Local Settings window.
  • It is advised to do an application reset to apply changes to the system.

2. How to Access the Label Page

  • Dashboard
    • One way to get to the label page is to click the green Ordering tile on the DX1 Dashboard.
    • Once you land on the Part Inventory page click the Parts Label Printing option in the Left navigation menu.


  • Navigate to Search Box
    • No matter what page you are on, at any time, you can click into the Navigate to Search box on the top left-hand portion of your DX1 page. Start typing Part Labels and click the option when it appears.


3. Using the Label Search 

  • When you land on the label page you have a few sources to choose from, here is a brief description of what each source does.
    • In Inventory
      • This will search any part that is in your inventory, with an O/H value greater than zero.
    • Special Order
      • This source will search all special order records where a label has not been printed during the receiving process.
    • Stocking Order
      • This source will search all stocking order records where a label has not been printed during the receiving process.
    • DSP Change
      • This list will search all parts in inventory that have had a DSP change since the last time a label has been printed. Again this is for in-stock parts only.

  • Once you have chosen your source you can filter by
    • Part #
    • Part Description
    • Brand
    • Catalog Code
    • Category
    • by Catalog

  • Enter your search value and click the blue Search button
  • Don't forget you can sort the results by clicking the top of the column header.
  • To return All labels for a particular source do not enter a value and simply click the Search button.
  • Once you have a set of results you can add an individual part to the Print Now Listy by clicking the "+" icon next to the part.
    • If you would like to add all parts to the Print Now List you can click the "+" icon at the top of the search grid. 
    • Special Note: You can only print labels for 100 parts at a time, if your list contains more than 100 parts, after the first 100 have printed click the "+" to print the rest. You may need to do this several times if your list is large.

  • If you would like to delete a part you can click the trashcan icon next to the individual part.
    • If you would like to delete all parts from the search list you can click the trashcan icon at the top of the search grid. 
    • Special Note: When you delete a record from the search list it is permanent, this change cannot be undone.


4. Using the Print Now List

  • Once parts have been added to the Print Now List you have a few options to be mindful of.
    • When you click the trashcan icon next to a part you will have the option to clear the part from the print list, which will return the part to the Search List or you can delete the part from the print and search list permanently.
    • You can edit the Print Quantity in the list. Keep in mind that once you print the label from the print now label list it will no longer return in search results.
    • You can sort the list results by clicking the top of the column headers.
    • You can only print labels for 100 parts at a time, your list contains more than 100 parts, after the first 100 have printed click the "+" to print the rest. You may need to do this several times if your list is large.
  • If you are ready to print labels click the Print button in the top right-hand part of the page.

  • If you are using Avery Labels you will see this configuration page.
    • You can check the boxes on the Items to be Included on the Label.
    • You can decide where it should start printing labels on the list as well as a preview of what the label will look like.
    • Click the Print button when you are ready to print

  • If you are using Thermal Labelsyou will see this page.
    • Note: If you are using thermal labels for the first time you will need to reach out to our Customer Support team to get your label configured for printing.


5. Printing from the Part Inventory Item Detail

  • You can also print labels for a part right from the Inventory Item Detail by clicking the Label button in the top right-hand portion of the page.


6. Printing Labels During Receiving

  • During the receiving process, you will be prompted to print labels for stock and or special order parts.

  • The first pop-up page will be for Stocking Order Labels

  • The second pop-up page will be for Special Order Labels, if they were on the PO
  • Click the Print button and you are good to go.
