Connect the two time clocks so technicians can start work on a repair order and finish their day with fewer clock entries. Turn the setting on in Dealership Settings under Service Settings.
In this document, we will cover the following topics.
1. How to Turn It On
2. What Happens When Employees Clock In and Out
3. That’s it and Support
1. How to Turn It On
a. Open Dealership Settings, then Service Settings.
b. Make sure both the Dealership time clock and Technician time clock are enabled.
c. Turn on Synchronize dealership and technician time clocks.
d. Save your changes, then sign out and back in to apply the setting.
e. This setting is off by default. Leave it off, or turn it off later, if you want the two clocks to work independently.
2. What Happens When Employees Clock In and Out
a. Starting a repair order - When a technician clocks into a repair order while clocked out of the dealership, DX1 also clocks them into the dealership at the same time. If they are already clocked in, no additional dealership clock-in is created.
b. Finishing the day - When an employee clocks out of the dealership, DX1 also closes every open repair-order clock for that employee at that dealership, using the same clock-out time.
c. Clocking into the dealership - This does not start a repair-order clock. The technician still clocks into the repair order when ready to work.
d. Finishing a repair order - Clocking out of a repair order does not clock the employee out of the dealership.
e. Correcting past time entries - Manager corrections and changes to past entries stay separate. Editing one clock does not automatically change the other.
3. That's it and Support
That’s it! Both time clocks must remain enabled for this setting to work. If you need assistance, contact DX1 Support at 877-944-6766 or visit DX1support.com.
