An increasing number of businesses are becoming aware of the benefits of blogging. Blogging, once a personal online journaling tool, is now being used by businesses to reach out to their customers, employees and fellow businesses alike.

Traffic, traffic, traffic! Keep your readers informed, up-to-date and coming back to find the latest posts on hot industry related topics, dealership events and/or sales. Blogs also provide a great way for you to increase the number of inbound links to your dealership web site.

                            

 

                            

As long as you post new information to your web site blog every day or two, the search engines will recognize those updates and will rank your web site blog higher than a web site that doesn't change their content pages from month to month. A higher ranking means more visitors are likely to find and visit your site.

What is an internet forum?

                            

An internet forum is an online discussion site where visitors with similar interests can form discussion groups. Forums encourage dialog on an almost unlimited number of topics. Forums are a useful resource because visitors are able to search through and obtain information from previously posted topics or post a question of their own.                            

                            

How can I utilize forums?

                            
  • "Advertise" on existing forums
Existing forums offer excellent opportunities for you to advertise your dealership. Many forums offer dealer-specific areas. Small fees may apply for these options, but if you can stay involved and have regular discussions, it is an excellent way to build a regular customer base. Be sure that when posting responses you include your dealership name and web site address in your signature. If possible, include a link to your site as well.

  • Set up your own dealership forum
This is an excellent way to have direct discussions and customer involvement with your dealership. You can also advertise specials, events and vehicle specials. There are many versions of forums, both free and paid, that can be found via the internet.
